What I will come true

I have a lot of dream in my life. I'm going to spend many years in other country. During whole life, I will visit and stay more than 100 countries (for instance, in this summer vacation I have a plan to trip to China and France) and meet so many precious friends and get wonderful relationships. My future job is work at international organization; JICA or something like that and I can go to foreign countries through the job.

Next year I wake up with smell of coffee beans and the room is really chic and the carpet is purple red. I open the window and see the scenery of downtown; there are a lot of historical buildings made by brick or stone and at the same time the town is surrounded by beautiful green trees and forests. You can hear bird’s singing voice. Breakfast is milk tea and delicious muffin. After brush my teeth, I prepare my bag to attend the classes and go to university by red stylish bus. In the bus, my friends notice me and say ‘’Good morning Sanae, today starts. Let’s go to school together!’’

Do you know Ukraine?

Do you have some image or some words related to Ukraine? I guess you wonder why I talk about this country suddenly. The reason is so clearly. I had stayed there for seven weeks by alone! During this spring vacation, from February 3th to March 24th, I wasn’t in Japan; it was so exciting experience for me because I love staying foreign countries :)

Why I went to Ukraine? Because I joined a project to introduce my country’s culture, it was created by AIESEC; international university students organization. The students always make effort to invite a lot of participants from other countries or send them to other places and my university also has AIESEC and they helped me to join it. There are so many kinds of projects, internship in some company, survey of nature or animals, education in school and so on. My project member was one Chinese girl and me; she always helped me and spent much time together.

The picture I wore Yukata was one of lesson we taught children in orphans. I wrote ‘’lecture’’ but actually it was a kind of activity to show Japanese and Chinese typical culture. Not only orphans but also middle school we went to. Sometimes we sang easy song in Chinese and Japanese, show traditional clothes, toys, music videos, photos of traditional garden, festival, famous places, foods and so on, wore them Yukata, introduce our languages.

We didn’t explain our culture, just show some material but I think it’s enough for students because I don’t know they’re interested in Asia and want to stimulate them it at some extent. I hope they enjoyed our activity and if they hear China or Japan after it, they say’’ I know these counties; two Asian girls came our school and showed us curious goods!’’ I will be so happy and impressed if this situation happens in the future. It’s one of strong desire maybe.

I have a lot of experience in Ukraine so I will try to keep posting this blog and think about it deeply to write the memory.

Today I talked with my friends to use Skype for the first time. It was so exciting, I could chat with her to watch her face, it seems to me that she comes my apartment and stay one night :)

Yesterday I went to a mass home electronics retailer to buy camera and microphone for Skype; it was a just casual idea. I acted on impulse and bought small pink camera, it’s so cute!

I told about Skype to my mother and after that surprising for me, she finished download soon. That’s why now I live alone so she worried about her daughter always. Maybe tomorrow we will talk.

I’m looking forward to chat with my friends live far away, university ones and my family to use Skype.

Please speak English. Thank you.

Hello everyone. How are you these days? I hope all of you are fine!

From last week new semester started so I’m little tired. I know I have to accustomed university time schedule quickly but it’s difficult for us because university students have long summer vacations about two months. It‘s impossible for me to forget a lot of experiences in this vacation.

I said here before in this summer vacation, I went to Philippine to study English and stayed here three weeks by myself. It was for the first time to do abroad alone, it made me little nerves.

But at the same time I thought it was good chance to speak English much in English school. The school’s name is English Fella and few Japanese students go to there. In addition Fella looked so beautiful and has a nice pool as a facility from brochure so I decided to join this study program.

After the class started I was really shocked because most students were Korean! I didn’t expect that situation! On second thought I said in my mind ‘’ It’s okay no problem, I just try to make friends with them.’’ so tried to speak and talk to them.

Gradually I became realized it’s really difficult to communicate with them. Most of them exhausted to study English because they took a Spartan class it are different from mine. Day by day their face turned so tired it told me not to speak English to them. On school wall, there was a small sign; ‘’Please speak English. Thank you. ‘’ It seemed to me it was a big irony, I couldn’t laugh at all. They spoke Korean in break times and after classes in actually.

This situation was suffered me most every day, I always asked myself’’ What should I do?’’ I just wanted to get along with them but I didn’t want to make them feel bad to speak English so I only told them greeting; for instance Hi or Hello or something like that.

That’s why I often argued about them to my teachers, I really need someone to express my feeling in English. They were always kind to me and encouraged a lot. Of course their classes were great; I really liked my classes :) Most classes were private lessons so I continued to speak English so much, it made my throat tired and sometimes my voice was hoarse. I was satisfied because of my purpose was study English!

I became understand Korean’s students situation, they need high English skill to get a job in their countries so they came to Cebu. I misunderstood they wanted to study and speak English because they like it. It was mandatory study for their future. It seems for me how pity they are!

One of my teachers told me to find students who want to talk with me in English. Luckily I could find that kind of people and became friends and exchanged E-mail address :) I have to say thank you to my teacher and friends!

I only stayed in Fella for three weeks but I could meet a variety of people want to talk in English and refuse it and so on. Almost of them were kind so I was regretted a little why I couldn’t communicate well them but I strain every nerve to speak English all the times, I’m proud of myself at some extent:) I hope this experience makes me stronger and more attractive and improve my English skill!

Trip to Hiroshima and Okayama

From August 2th to 5th, I traveled in Hiroshima and Okayama with my friends. One is same university students and classmate. The other is from Hong Kong and she came to Japan to study Japanese and the culture. We met her in this spring vacation to join CIEE volunteer project together. She finished one year for a exchange student and come back to Hong Kong so before she come back, we decided to meet again :)

This trip was so nice but it is difficult for me to exchange e-mail in English. E-mail is convenient but I prefer to chat face to face!

We went to Atomic doom, Japanese traditional garden and Miyajima and so on in Hiroshima. In Okayama, we walked around Kurashiki city and went to Ohara art museum and a lot of souvenir shops :) We enjoyed a lot.

Now she came back to her hometown but of course we keep in touch with her. I hope to travel Hong Kong next summer or spring vacation to meet her!

Tomorrow I’m going to go Philippine to study English. It makes me so excited. I want to try my best to improve English skill during this stay. I believe this experience becomes my power and even though all experience that at first I think not so important or boring things make me stronger.

Examinations of Spanish had taken place today. This week and next week is a period of a semester test. It will not be long before the test ends. There are two tests left I have to take. One is ‘’ an introduction of linguistic science’’ and the other is ‘’culture and communication’’. These classes are my major class. There are a lot of things I have to memorize!

After finish the Spanish test, I and my friend went to a department store to eat lunch together. We were considered a few minutes and decided to enter the Italian restaurant. We wanted to eat more singular food; for instance Vietnam or Thai food but at the end we had spaghetti and pizza of tomato sauce and cheese. These pictures are dishes we ate. In addition we could eat a nice cake! It was really delicious so that’s all right :)

I parted from her in the department store and went to other shop. I bought a T-shirt, some books and DVDs; ‘’Back To The Future’’ and ‘’The Devil Wears Prada’’. I’m going to watch from now on!

Is it delicious?

Yes, it is really delicious!

This picture was yesterday’s board of part time job. I work for waitress in the restaurant. The chief is nice and care about balance of nutrition so every meal is great!

It was a bowl of rice topped with sashimi (sliced some kinds of raw fish), thin wheat noodles, a mixture of vegetable bits and shrimp fried in batter and chicken and konnyaku (a gelatinous food made from devil’s-tongue starch) boiled and seasoned.

Four month have passed since I started this job and recently I become used to work. Sometimes employee praised me so I feel happy. That’s exactly my motivation rise when they approve of my work :)

I want to absorb everything I can learn this part time job and of course classes in university. Class starts from now on!

Picture is wonderful :)

My friends and I were on this picture. I took it when we went to Auckland museum. We traveled together in New Zealand in a week. During travel, of course I took so many pictures but I don’t know how I show you my pictures because I’m not good at user of computer and digital camera. But from today it has changed!

Today was start of New Year in our university. After a long time I met a lot of friends (include them). They became all more fascinated girls! Some teachers explained to take courses. After finished, they visited my apartment to change each of our own pictures. I think you know I had to clean my room at yesterday’s night...

They understand use computer so I relied everything about that! In the end I could get her pictures and they also could my pictures. Thank you very much :) They are reliable friends!

Seeing pictures I gave myself up to memories of our travel days. I felt keenly how happy I got this special experience.

Plum Pickles

Bing bong.

Suddenly the doorbell rang so I stand up and walked up to the door.

It was the owner of my apartment. She had a paper bag. She said’’ Good evening. I want you to give this plum pickle of my thanks. It tastes good so I liked it.’’ I felt her kindness so I was happy.

Several days ago I gave her rice cracker. (Grilled after being seasoned with soy sauce) My mother sent it to me to give her because I could live peacefully my freshman life. Last March I started live alone in this apartment. One year has passed.

Opened the box, there were so many plum pickles! Maybe I can’t eat all of them so I want to share it with my neighborhood friends :)

Fresh trial

Several days before, I bought three books. These are primers about Chinese, Korean and German. I hit upon a good idea; start the study of these languages. I have studied English and Spanish in university so this trial is fresh for me :)

Why I thought of this idea? That’s why my spring vacation experience; I went to New Zealand, joined eco volunteer and met nice volunteer members. They are from England, Hong Kong, German and Korea. During volunteer, we lived together and taught our own language each other! I tried to memorize easy phrase for example Good morning or what is this? and so on. It was really exciting because I could learn new languages from native speakers :) These pronunciations sound rhythmic sense I felt so I liked it!

If I can speak German when travel around Europe? If I can speak Korean and Chinese when I talk to friends from Korea and China? This image serves as a stimulus for my study.

*Spring Vacation*

Today this semester test finished so I’m really happy! I hope I can get all credits especially required credits.

Looking back my university life, most of classes have some points which were attracted me. This is natural things because I’m interested in my department and classes are related to my interest. But I think it is good environment for study.

I’m getting along well with my friends who met in this year. I’m really glad to meet a lot of nice friends and seniors (they are member of our English club.) Of course this AGU member is nice and I feel them like a family. When I talk them, I often feel good power or motivation; it is a stimulus for me.

So I must say to everyone and everything ‘’Thank you my freshman life.’’ :)

Spring vacation begins from tomorrow. :) I want to play much, go out many places and become attractive person, who has much deep knowledge, tender heart, can sympathize with a person.

Have a special spring vacation!

I went to two universities.

This weekend I went to two universities; Weseda University and Kogakuin University.
Because I join AEI so take part in these discussions in English, it was so exciting!

In Waseda University, I and freshman who was same table gave a presentation of our group products which wake us up easily. This is really serious problem for me because I sometimes overslept recently. Other team’s presentation was wonderful so he and I felt regrettable but we tried our best.

In Kougakuin University, it holds Christmas party! All participants bring present and exchange. This picture is present I got from someone. It’s an ornament of glass and I really liked it!

I’m so satisfied to talk so many unknown universities students. I love communicate with so many people. I don’t know why I really enjoy discussion very much but I want to meet a lot of people and have to do with good relationship :)

Hi everyone! How are you doing? Peter is fine.

This weekend, November 22 to 24, I went to Shibuya everyday! That’s why for my new part time job and a moot United Nation.

My job is serve dishes and drinks, clean tables and accept orders by customers and so on. It was hard for me but I enjoyed this work especially I love clean dishes and wine glasses, if I do this I feel refreshing. :)

There are two types of restaurants in there; one is a hull-course meal and other is a kind of bar. Many workers can work so smooth so I want to work efficiently as soon as possible.

This board was really delicious! I worked long time so was tired, but I ate meals and recovered my spirits. :)

November 24 I went to the United Nations University. In fact this university is in front of Aoyama Gakuin University so I have seen it several times so far and I wanted to enter in it. One of my little dreams came true!

I took part in a moot United Nation and this topic is humanitarian intervention by United Nation. Three professors told their ideas of this topic it was so interesting and complicate. Is it OK to do humanitarian intervention? Why the UN does it for other country; not related to own country? What borders of it decide success or failure and who decide it? I thought about it for the first time.

This experience made me realize keenly how important acquire and broaden knowledge once more. If I always think or study about some topic I can tell my idea or opinion. If I don’t do this I have no idea so I can’t discuss with others. I need to study more and more:)

AEI

From November 1 to 3 I was spending busy but exciting time because Aoyama festival was holding these three days.

Our club set up a refreshment stand we sold frankfurter and potato rice cake; it is in chesses and really delicious :) Many people bought those so we became happy.

I’m member of Aoyama English Institute (AEI). Our club main activity is participating in discussion. We talk to other university students in English at these discussions. It is really exciting! I love talking with unknown people and become friends. I took part in only twice so I’m going to participate more and more :)

Recently my friend and I are planning to change AEI more active club so I’m nervous a little. But I try my best.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY and FESTIVAL

October 11 morning my mother and sister came to my apartment. When they entered to my room I was still sleeping because I cleaned my room carefully and cooked Chinese soup with egg the last night. Recently I enjoy cooking so I wanted to eat them my dish.
In the soup there were much long green onion; my sister hates but she ate! Thanks :)

After that we went to art museum of Ryogoku in Tokyo. There is held Ukiyoe prints; woodblock prints of Boston. There are so many works for example works of Hokusai Katsusika and Hirosige Utagawa. They are really famous artists so their names and works have in both textbooks of history my sister and me! It was so excited for us :)

The next day, October 12 was my sister birthday. Happy birthday Saya! She became 14 years old. So I gave presents; a necklace of strawberry and a hairpin of small pink ribbon. She seemed like them.

The day also was Sagamihara festival; this is Aoyama Gakuinn festival (This picture is the festival.). So we went to school. First we listened to Ayumi’s club live concert; they were really good at singing! It was impressed for me. My sister belongs to a chorus club so I thought it was nice experience to her.

I met some of AGU members in this festival. Masahiro was selling cotton candy. Risa and Kyoko were selling Tidimi; Korean food and Nozomu helped them. Emily was selling fried noodles. Sae and Kei were selling waffles. Sachi was selling general merchandise of Thai. As a result, I bought all of them! But my mother and sister and I enjoyed this festival.

Recently

Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you are fine :)

Recently I cook sometimes because I love and enjoy eating and autumn is appetite season. I cooked miso soup (This taste was weak.), boiled spinach seasoned with soy sauce (Its color turned bad.) and fried rice with various ingredients, I upgrade the picture (This taste was so-so.). I’m not good at cooking but I want to cook delicious meal so I keep trying. Do you like cooking? What’s your favorite food?

Today I went to shopping at Shimokitazawa near the Shinjuku with my friend. This is first time to visit this place for us. There are many nice and interesting small cloth shops. Some shops are unique; others are very cute and so on. I bought a kind of dressing gown. It is so cute I think! I always try to buy Cheap and Cute clothes, this double C is really important for me. In fact this gown was a bit expensive but I bought; it’s against my policy! Ha ha ha...

We bought many clothes and enjoyed shopping. After that we ate dinner at Machida west of Tokyo. It had a good time!

Gastroenteritics

Last week, I had been sick. I felt badly so I checked my temperature…I run a high fever…it was 39 degrees!! It was shocked and confused for me :( I called my mother because I didn’t understand what I should do and wanted some advices. After that, I asked my friend who live same apartment to bring drink and banana. Thanks a lot!

But I didn’t recover soon so I went to hospital. The doctor told that I was gastroenteritis (Of course I consult this word a dictionary.); it was really surprising because I thought I only had a fever. Unfortunately I became suffered from diarrhea…I thought good health is really important again and again!

I gave up participating in lodge together for my club and meeting AGU at September 22. I wanted to meet everyone, I felt sad :( I’m looking forward to meet next time!
